Now with a name like Gothic Wedding Photography it’s not too much of a mystery what’s on offer here.
Gothic Wedding Photography is a sister project set up by Mr Mark Tierney, alongside his established wedding photography business, Tierney Photography.
I asked Mark what had made him want to set up a whole new business aimed at the gothic community. “To be honest I’d just like to spread my wings a bit, rather than shooting regular weddings week after week.” he replied, “I’d love to find couples who were more adventurous when it comes to making use of the venue and surroundings as a backdrop to their wedding albums. For example, I was shooting a wedding a while back, which was taking place at a beautiful venue with gorgeous gardens and the bride wouldn’t even set foot on the lawn. That tends to limit what you can do for people.
“I have a passion for photographing atmospheric landscapes and also love architectural photography. I have a great interest in shooting people within these settings.”
Indeed, you only have to take a look at the Gothic Wedding Photography website, which is still a work in progress, to find strong examples of the atmospheric architectural and landscape photography that Mark refers to. Images to whet your appetite include Whitby Abbey and those bleak Yorkshire moors.
For a closer look at Mark’s wedding credentials take a look at his first website, tierneyphotography.co.uk. Look under the Portraits tab at the ‘Rock my Dress’ and ‘Trash my Dress’ galleries, and under the Landscapes tab, the British Seascape gallery being my personal favourite. I’m certain that the images will help you start visualising how you want your wedding album to look. Mark assures me that he is open to any suggestions.
So don’t waste time. If you like what you see of Mark’s work get in touch with him, he’d love to hear from you. You may also be fortunate enough to take advantage the special offer that’s available right now – a free DVD slideshow of your wedding and all the photos on a DVD worth up to £250.
